About us
We have been on both ends of that call.
Jitter is built by people who have worked both ends of this call. Some of us run service businesses or have spent years as technicians on this equipment. Others have sat on a dispatch desk at 2am, working down a list of numbers and hoping the next shop picks up.
That desk is where the idea came from. When a shop does answer, the next twenty minutes go on working out whether they are close enough, awake enough, and set up for the kind of unit that is down. Almost all of that is knowable before anyone dials.
So Jitter is the thing we wanted on those nights. Something that already knows who is nearby, who is on call, and who can actually do the work, so that the phoning stops being a person’s job.
What we are trying to build is a way for capable small operators to be findable. Most of this trade is one to five technicians with a service truck and no marketing budget, and there is no good reason a fleet two hours away should never hear about them.
What we will not do.
Worth writing down now, while it costs us nothing to promise.
No bidding on jobs
Technicians are never put in a position of undercutting each other to get work. A rate is a rate.
No promoted placement, no pay-to-rank
Nobody buys their way to the front of a dispatch. What decides it is distance, availability and whether the credentials are on file.
No cut of a technician's rate
The fee never comes out of what a technician charges. That will not change later once there are enough of them to make it tempting.
Tell us where we have got it wrong.
Jitter is being built now, which is the only useful time to hear from the people who do this work.
