Privacy

This covers the website at jitter.ca. It collects very little, and this page says exactly what. The Jitter app is not released yet and will have its own policy when it is.
What we collect
If you use the contact form: your name, your email address, what you do, where you work if you choose to say, and your message. All of it is what you typed. Nothing is collected from your device beyond that.
If you only browse: the ordinary records any web server keeps. Your IP address, the pages you request, the time, and what browser you used. These sit in server logs and are not linked to a name.
There are no analytics, no advertising trackers, and no cookies set by this site. Our network provider may set a single cookie that exists only to tell real browsers from automated traffic. It does not track you across sites.
Why
Contact form details are used for one thing: replying to you. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not sell or share the details with anyone for their own use.
Server logs are used to keep the site running and to notice if it is being attacked.
Who handles it
A form submission is sent to us as an email. Two companies are involved in getting it there, and each sees only what it needs to do its job:
- Cloudflare carries traffic between your browser and our server, and protects the site. It sees your IP address and the requests you make.
- Resend delivers the email containing your form submission. It processes the message in order to send it. Resend is based in the United States, so a form submission crosses the border to reach us.
The site itself is hosted in Canada.
How long we keep it
Form submissions arrive in our email and stay there as long as the conversation is useful, which for someone we are talking to about Jitter may be a long time. If you would rather we deleted yours, ask and we will.
Server logs are rotated and old ones are discarded automatically.
What you can ask for
Under Canadian privacy law you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can also withdraw consent to us contacting you at any time, and we will stop. Send any of these through the contact form and say which one you want.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle it, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. We will not quietly widen what we collect.
